National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS)

National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) are the allowable levels of harmful pollutants set by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in accordance with the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. The latest NAAQS in effect was notified in November 2009 by Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF).
